9:52 am PT — Nick Reiner's new lawyer is public defender Kimberly Green, who has 19 years of experience.
The judge approved the change in Nick's legal representation, and then Nick spoke in court, saying, “Well, yeah, I agree with that.”
Nick leaves the courtroom and goes back to jail – he still doesn't have bail – and Alan is going to address the media… and we'll be broadcasting it live.
Nick RaynerTMZ has learned that Nick's lawyer is not involved in the case, and Nick will – at least for now – be represented by a public defender.
Sources with direct knowledge of the Reiner family told TMZ… when the lawyer Alan Jackson will appear in court Wednesday morning for Nick's arraignment, he will tell the judge that he no longer representing Nick.

Our sources say the public defender will step in at this point and the case will move forward. Nick will not enter a plea.
As for why Jackson is not involved in the case, we're told the family will release a statement once the proceedings are over and TMZ will release it.
According to TMZ, it's likely that Nick will ultimately plead not guilty by reason of insanity. He was diagnosed with a form of schizophrenia – schizoaffective disorder – and we were told his medication had sent him off the rails in the month before the murders.
Jackson scores a huge victory in Karen Reed A trial in Boston where she was found not guilty of murdering her boyfriend.
It is unclear whether the public defender will be temporary until another attorney takes over the case, or whether the public defender will handle the case from then on.
History develops…
