Nick Reiner, the son of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle, was arrested and charged with murder, Los Angeles Police Chief Jim McDonnell said Monday. Authorities initially said Nick Reiner, 32, was being held on $4 million bail, but police later said in a statement that he was being held without bond.
Rob and Michelle Reiner were found dead Sunday at their home in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles. Multiple sources told CBS News that they were found by the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner. Two sources familiar with the incident told CBS News that the couple was found with multiple stab wounds.
“Our hearts go out to the Reiners’ family and friends for this tragic incident,” McDonnell said at a news conference.
The Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement that police responded to the home on Sunday around 3:40 p.m. local time. Police did not provide details about what led investigators to suspect Nick Rayner in the death, saying only that an investigation showed he was allegedly responsible. Rayner was located and arrested at approximately 9:15 p.m. Sunday. Police said the case will be handed over to prosecutors on Tuesday.

Nick Reiner was credited as the screenwriter for Being Charlie, which was directed by his father and debuted at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival. They also promoted the film together.
