More NHL news on Saturday:

WASHINGTON — Moritz Seider had a goal and an assist and the Detroit Red Wings beat the Washington Capitals 5-2 on Saturday.

John Leonard and James van Riemsdyk — siblings of suspended Capitals players Ryan Leonard and Trevor van Riemsdyk — also scored for the Red Wings. Elmer Soderblom and Dylan Larkin did the same.

Detroit has won three of its last four games and remains atop the competitive Atlantic Division.

Alexey Protas and Martin Fehervari scored for the Capitals, who have lost four of their last five games.

The Red Wings dominated early and often, outscoring the Capitals 17–6 in the first frame. Leonard opened the scoring just 1:05 into the match, breaking the net and deflecting a rebound past Logan Thompson.

Detroit then took control of the second game, scoring three goals in a 10:05 span to make the score 4–0.

NEW YORK — Mika Zibanejad tied the game late in the third period and New York saved two overtime penalties en route to a shootout victory over Philadelphia.

The comeback for just a fifth win in 18 home games this season came at a potentially huge cost, with captain JT Miller leaving the team in pain after Nick Siler's hard hit with just over eight minutes remaining. Miller appeared to favor his right arm/shoulder as he rolled down and walked down the tunnel to seek medical attention.

Miller was already out of the game when Zibanejad scored late on the power play after Rasmus Ristolainen's delay of game penalty for sending the puck over the glass. Penalties to Artemi Panarin and Scott Morrow in overtime stymied the Rangers, but Igor Shesterkin made four of his 28 saves after regulation.

Panarin scored twice and returned as the shootout winner after missing Thursday night's game in St. Louis with an illness. The Rangers fell behind, allowing three goals in less than four minutes and another before the end of the second period, then Vincent Trocheck made it big in the third.

Travis Sanheim had a goal and an assist and Denver Barkey scored his first two career points in his NHL debut for Philadelphia. Samuel Ersson allowed four goals on 27 shots, plus two more in the shootout, and he and the Flyers lost for the fifth time in six games.

OTTAWA, ON. — Three goals in the third period, including a pair from David Perron, helped Ottawa win over Chicago.

Despite a strong effort, Chicago lost its fifth game in a row.

Perron scored his first goal of the game on the power play and his second on a great pass from Tim Stutzle. Fabian Zetterlund scored the final goal to seal Ottawa's victory.

Stutzl had a goal and two assists, and Tyler Kleven and Brady Tkachuk also scored for Ottawa. Leevi Merilainen made 20 saves.

Ilya Mikheyev scored twice for Chicago, and Andre Burakovsky and Nick Lardis also scored for his first NHL goal. Arvid Soderblom stopped 34 shots.

ST. PAUL, Minn. — Matt Boldy scored twice, Filip Gustafsson made 28 saves and Minnesota beat Edmonton for its seventh straight win.

Ryan Hartman, Vladimir Tarasenko and Niko Sturm also scored, Mats Zuccarello had two assists and Minnesota set a franchise record with a 14-game home streak by going 12-0-2 at Grand Casino Arena since Nov. 1.

Gustafsson is 8-1 and 1 in his last 10 matches. The Wild have allowed just 11 goals during their winning streak, allowing no more than two in any game.

Connor McDavid and Andrew Mangiapane scored for Edmonton, and Calvin Pickard stopped 32 shots. The Oilers have won four of five and six of eight.

SUNRISE, Fla. – St. Louis got a pair of goals from Jake Nabors and Robert Thomas in a win over Florida.

Jonathan Berggren and Justin Faulk also scored for the Blues, while Joel Hofer made 27 saves. Pavel Buchnevich and Berggren each added two assists.

AJ Greer and Sam Reinhart scored for the Panthers, who have won four straight. Daniil Tarasov stopped 25 shots.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Luke Evangelista broke a tie at 9:18 of the third period to help Nashville beat Toronto.

The Penguins lost their eighth straight and fell to 14-11-9.

Stuart Skinner stopped 17 shots in his second start for Pittsburgh. He allowed five goals in a 6-4 loss to Edmonton in his Pittsburgh debut Tuesday night after being acquired from Edmonton.

BOSTON — Liam Ogren was the lone scorer in a seven-round shootout as Vancouver beat Boston for its fourth straight win.

Ogren scored the tiebreaker with 7:34 to go in the third period before Andrew Peak's shot from the point hit the post, bounced off goalie Kevin Lankinen's hand and into the net to tie the game at 4-all with 3:44 left in regulation.
