Prime Video has announced a new partnership with one of hockey's biggest podcasts, Spittin' Chiclets, to provide content and commentary for Prime Monday Night Hockey in its second NHL season.
The Spittin' Chiclets will appear in “exclusive content” throughout the NHL season, according to a press release. Host Paul Bissonnette will appear on select broadcasts beginning with the opening of NHL on Prime on October 13th. Exclusive content will feature not only Paul Bissonnette, but also the show's other hosts, as well as former NHL players Ryan Whitney and Keith Yandle. Content will appear on the Home Ice Access pregame show., and during intermissions. Spittin' Chiclets will also appear in some episodes of the series. NHL coast to coast on Prime Video, a weekly live show that airs Thursday nights.
To add some context for those unfamiliar, Spittin' Chiclets, part of the Barstool Sports Network, has become one of the largest producers of hockey media with the previously mentioned hosts Paul Bissonnette, Ryan Whitney and Keith Yandle. In addition to traditional hockey coverage, the show features pop culture conversations and entertaining game-day stories from guest players, as well as unfiltered content about the game of hockey. Paul Bissonnette joins TNT for hockey coverage in 2021.quickly becoming one of the most interesting faces in mainstream hockey coverage. Prime Video signed a two-year contract become an NHL broadcaster in 2024, embracing the sport with open arms (which includes giant LEGO installation at Union Station in Toronto).
As previously mentioned, Bissonnette's first Prime Video broadcast will be the NHL season opener on Prime Video on Monday, October 13th when the Detroit Red Wings take on the Toronto Maple Leafs at 4:00 p.m. THIS. This broadcast will be followed by the St. Louis Blues vs. Detroit Red Wings at 7:30 pm ET.
