Los Angeles Rams in a 41-34 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday, with a controversial touchdown helping prop up the top team in the NFC West.
In the third quarter, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford found tight end Colby Parkinson to run down the sideline and put the ball in the perfect spot for his teammate to make the catch. Parkinson found his way into the end zone and the play was initially ruled a touchdown.

The officials watched the performance. It could be argued that Parkinson had the ball and was ejected at the 1-yard line. But any hope of getting a touchdown off the board was immediately dashed. Officials supported this call.
It was a 26-yard touchdown pass from Stafford to Parkinson, but there was debate on social media about whether it was the right call.
Detroit tried to get back into the game with David Montgomery touchdown at the end of the game. But the Lions didn't get the ball back, leaving plenty of time to do anything significant.

Stafford was 24 of 38 with 368 passing yards, two touchdown passes and one interception. Parkinson had both touchdowns. He finished with five catches for 78 yards. Puka Nacua led the team with nine catches for 181 yards.
The Lions had two receivers with over 100 yards in Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams. St. Brown had 13 catches for 164 yards and two touchdowns. Williams had seven catches for 134 yards and a touchdown.
Detroit Jared Goff threw for 338 yards and three touchdowns. He was fired only once.

With this win, the Rams qualified for the playoffs. The team is still keeping pace with Seattle Seahawks for the NFC West title.
