NFL scores: Broncos top Commanders in thrilling OT victory

Denver Broncos There were several great plays in Sunday's Washington Commanders game, but the game was most impressive in overtime.

It didn't take long for the Broncos to score. Bo Nix threw four scoring passes, including a 41-yard pass to Evan Engram, then handed the ball to running back RJ Harvey, who scored from five yards out for a 27-20 lead.

Commander's Defender Marcus Mariota created some heroic abilities in the late game. He found Deebo Samuel on 3rd-and-14 for a 38-yard gain. He connected with Terry McLaurin to tie the game to one point. There was nothing to lose, and the “commanders” decided to bet on two and win. Mariota dropped back to pass and his attempt to pass the ball to Jeremy McNichols was blocked by Broncos pass rusher Nick Bonitto.

The Broncos won the game 27–26.

Nix finished 29 of 45 for 321 yards and a touchdown. Harvey had 35 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns.

The overtime heroics of Harvey and Bonito were just two of several great plays made during the game.

Nix did his best to do his best. He helped Denver take the lead before halftime when he threw a touchdown pass. Courtland Sutton as he fell to the ground. He avoided the rush and his calf was about to hit the ground before he sent the ball to Sutton in the end zone.

BRO NIX OF THE BRONCOS THROWS A PASS, FALLING TO THE GROUND IN AN AMAZING PLAY

Commander wide receiver Treylon Burks probably said, “Look at this,” before playing his sensational game. Burks received a pass from Mariota in the end zone. Somehow he managed to catch the ball with one hand and score the game-winning touchdown.

It was Burks' second career touchdown, and the Commanders really needed it.

Mariota tried to keep the offense going with four minutes left in the game. He's found a tight end Zach Ertz open in the middle of a field. The ball was thrown high and Ertz was able to intercept the pass and knock it down.

But just as he was about to catch the ball, Broncos linebacker Alex Singleton knocked the ball away and the pass was incomplete. Washington hit the ball.

Singleton played in his first game since undergoing surgery for testicular cancer three weeks ago. It was a big play, but it came just a few minutes early as Mariota led the Commanders down the field to tie the game.

Mariota played as well as he could in a close game. He was 28 of 50 for 294 passing yards and two touchdown passes. He also had 55 yards on the ground.

Ertz finished with 10 catches for 106 yards. McLaurin had seven catches for 96 yards.

With the win, Denver improved to 10–2 and had won nine straight games. Washington fell to 3-9.
