Denver Broncos 13-11 New York Jets
Bo Nix scored an early touchdown, Wil Lutz kicked a late field goal and the Denver Broncos sacked Justin Fields nine times, most recently to seal an ugly 13-11 victory over the winless New York Jets on Sunday.
The Broncos (4-2) won their third straight but fell behind 11-10 after missing a third-quarter safety against a Jets team that managed just 82 net offensive yards.
Nix, who was 19 of 30 for 174 yards, led Denver on a 12-play, 65-yard drive that ended with Lutz's 27-yard field goal with just over five minutes remaining.
Despite a horrendous offensive performance, the Jets (0-6) still had the ball and had a chance to force a potential winning score. But Fields was sacked by Jonathon Cooper and Justin Strnad on fourth-and-8 against the Denver 44 after Aaron Glenn decided to go for it rather than send Nick Faulk in for a long field goal attempt. Faulk made all three of his field goals.
Fields struggled all game, completing nine of 17 passes for just 45 yards. The Jets finished the game with minus-10 passing yards, the fewest in a game since the Chargers were minus-19 against the Kansas City Chiefs in 1998.
“Our passing game was non-existent,” Glenn said after the game.
Dallas Cowboys 27–30 Carolina Panthers
Rico Dowdle rushed for more than 200 yards from scrimmage for the second week in a row – this time against his former team – and rookie Ryan Fitzgerald kicked a 33-yard field goal as time expired as the Carolina Panthers (3-3) defeated the Dallas Cowboys (2-3-1) in a wild back-and-forth game. Bryce Young completed 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards and threw two of his three touchdown passes to rookie Tetairoa McMillan. The Panthers improved to 3-0 at home. Dowdle rushed for 183 yards on 30 carries and caught four passes for 56 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers.
San Francisco 49ers 19–30 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Baker Mayfield's heroics came early in the fourth quarter, not in the final minutes. Mayfield scored two touchdowns and put on a thrilling performance to help the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-1) beat the San Francisco 49ers (4-2). After winning four games by last-minute scores, the Buccaneers didn't have to come back late to secure this victory. The injury-plagued 49ers lost four-time All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner to a serious right ankle injury in the first quarter. Mayfield made the difference when he scrambled for a first down on third-and-14.
Los Angeles Rams 17–3 Baltimore Ravens
The Los Angeles Rams (4-2) finished the first half in goal position before Matthew Stafford led them to a pair of touchdowns to start the third quarter with a win over the Baltimore Ravens (1-5). The Rams weren't at their best, but they didn't have to face a surging Baltimore team that was without injured quarterback Lamar Jackson for the second weekend in a row. The Ravens managed a field goal on their first drive and that was it. The score was tied at 3-3 late in the first half when the Ravens kicked their first goal from the four-yard line. The Rams have stopped four straight runs.
Arizona Cardinals 27–31 Indianapolis Colts
Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes and Jonathan Taylor ran in with 4:32 left to give the Indianapolis Colts (5-1) a victory over the Arizona Cardinals (2-4). Jones finished 22 of 30 for 212 yards with one interception. He also ran for the score. Taylor had 21 carries for 123 yards, and rookie Tyler Warren caught six passes for 63 yards and a touchdown. Indy remained perfect at home, winning its sixth straight at Lucas Oil Stadium. Arizona lost its fourth straight after taking a fourth-quarter lead for the second week in a row.
Seattle Seahawks 20–12 Jacksonville Jaguars
Sam Darnold threw passes to Jackson Smith-Njigbe and Cooper Kupp, and Seattle dominated both lines of scrimmage en route to the victory. Smith-Njigba finished with eight receptions for 162 yards as the Seahawks (4-2) bounced back from a last-second loss to Tampa Bay at home. They had little trouble traveling cross-country for an early start, controlled most of the way and improved to 22-6 in the last decade at 1 p.m. kickoffs on the East Coast. Meanwhile, the Jaguars (4-2) looked every bit like a team that spent the week enjoying Monday night's win over Kansas City.
Cleveland Browns 9–23 Pittsburgh Steelers
Aaron Rodgers passed for 235 yards and two touchdowns, and the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-1) had little trouble with the Cleveland Browns (1-5). The Steelers extended their early hold over the AFC North by continuing their home dominance over the Browns. Cleveland's regular-season losing streak at Acresur Stadium reached 22 games after another lifeless offensive performance. Browns rookie Dillon Gabriel passed for 221 yards but couldn't carry the league's second-leading offense into the end zone as Cleveland failed to top the 17-point barrier for the 11th straight game. Rodgers threw passes to Connor Hayward and DK Metcalf.
Los Angeles Chargers 29–27 Miami Dolphins
Justin Herbert escaped a Dolphins pass and connected with Ladd McConkey in the final minute for a 42-yard catch and run. That led to Cameron Dicker's fifth field goal of the game, and the Los Angeles Chargers (4-2) rallied to beat Miami. The Dolphins overcame a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to take the lead when Tua Tagovailoa threw a one-yard pass to Darren Waller with 46 seconds left. Nyheim Hines put the Chargers at the Miami 35, returning the ensuing kickoff 40 yards. Herbert then found McConkey and Dicker's 33-yard strike scored the game for Los Angeles, which had snapped a two-game skid. The Dolphins (1-5) were booed off the field at Hard Rock Stadium.
Cincinnati Bengals 18–27 Green Bay Packers
Josh Jacobs threw two touchdown passes and the Green Bay Packers (3-1-1) held off Cincinnati (2-4) to win in Joe Flacco's Bengals debut. Jacobs had a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and opened the fourth with a 14-yard score up the middle. Jordan Love went 19 of 26 for 259 yards with an interception and a 19-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Craft. Lukas Havrisik sealed the win with the second of his two field goals, a 39-yarder with 1:52 remaining. Flacco went 29 of 45 for 219 yards with two second-half touchdown passes five days after the Bengals acquired him from Cleveland.
New England Patriots 25-19 New Orleans Saints
Drake May passed for 261 yards and three touchdowns as the visiting New England Patriots defeated the New Orleans Saints. May completed 18 of 26 passes and the Patriots (4-2) matched their win total from last season to improve to 3-0 on the road. Spencer Rattler completed 20 of 26 for 227 yards and no touchdowns and Blake Grupe made four field goals for the Saints (1-5).
Tennessee Titans 10-20 Las Vegas Raiders
Geno Smith passed for 174 yards and a touchdown and Devin White led the Raiders' stifling defense as Las Vegas defeated the Tennessee Titans. The Raiders (2-4) ended a four-game skid and the Titans (1-5) missed an opportunity to win back-to-back games for the first time since November 2022. Neither struggling team had much success on offense. They combined for 451 yards rushing. Las Vegas won fairly easily despite the number of walkers from Smith and Ashton Jeanty, who rushed for 75 yards and a touchdown at an average of 3.3 per game. The Raiders set the tone in the first half, outshining the Titans.
