Injuries have plagued NFL teams throughout the 2025 season, and the problem struck NFL officials Thursday night during the Buffalo Bills vs. Buffalo Bills game. Houston Texans game.
Referee Adrian Hill limped during the Texans' road game in the third quarter. He was seen in the end zone watching the play unfold. As he began to move, Hill grabbed his left leg.

Hill was helped off the field and had to be taken to the locker room. Referee Roy Ellison took over as referee for the remainder of the game.
Hill has been an NFL official since 2010, making his debut as a lineman on September 12, 2010, in a game between the Washington Redskins and Dallas Cowboys. He was promoted to judge in 2019 after Pete Morelli and Walt Coleman retired.
Ellison is a longtime official himself, and his NFL career has been somewhat controversial.

In 2018, he had a confrontation with a Bills defensive lineman. Jerry Hughes. The NFL player confronted Ellison in the tunnel after the game between the Bills and Miami Dolphins. Hughes accused Ellison of calling him a slur. Ellison was reportedly fined one game check for the incident.
Both teams were also working with injuries during the game.
Bills Quarterback Josh Allen had to leave after he was beaten at a performance. Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir, safety Maxwell Hairston and offensive lineman Dion Dawkins were evaluated for concussions. Bills linebacker Terrell Bernard suffered an elbow injury and was sidelined for the rest of the game.

The Texans played without quarterback C.J. Stroud and safety Jalen Pitre, who were both injured.
