NFL news: Saints’ Chris Olave admits to questioning future

New Orleans Saints Wide receiver Chris Olave had a tremendous game against the New York Jets on Sunday, catching two touchdowns in the team's 29-6 victory.

Olave recently contemplated retirement after suffering the third and fourth concussions of his football career in 2024. He admitted this after defeating Jets that he was considering ending the collaboration due to injuries.

“It was a difficult time last year,” he told reporters. via ESPN. “I was only 24 years old and was thinking about retiring, especially because of the head injury, but I prayed about it. My family, my close family was there for me. They stayed by my side and I just gave it one more try, one more chance. And it was a great year.”

Olav said he discussed his options with his family and friends and they helped him convince him to stick with it.

He will enter the final year of his rookie contract in 2026. He said he wanted to stay in New Orleans. He has 283 receptions for 3,609 yards and 18 touchdowns in four seasons with the Saints.
