Cris Collinsworth, former Cincinnati Bengals star and NBC broadcaster, joked about government shutdown during the Seattle Seahawks' monster 38-14 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday night.
As the game went from the third to the fourth quarter, NBC's broadcast showed the U.S. Capitol.

“It’s a calm place,” Collinsworth said, prompting a chuckle from play specialist Mike Tirico.
The government shutdown will continue into its sixth week. President Donald Trump said in an interview with CBS's “60 Minutes” that he believed Democrats would ultimately give in to Republican demands because the two sides weren't at the table at all.
“I think they should do it,” Trump said. “And if they don’t vote, that’s their problem.”

Meanwhile, the Seahawks crushed the Commanders after a hot start with… Sam Darnold. The veteran quarterback completed his first 17 passes and didn't throw any incompletions until his first pass in the third quarter.
Darnold threw four touchdown passes in the first half, two to Tory Horton and one each to Cody White and Elijah Arroyo. Seattle scored 28 points before the halftime whistle.
Darnold was 21 of 24 passing for 330 yards. He had an interception in the second half.
Seahawks tight end AJ Barner had a rushing touchdown in the game, and Jackson Smith-Njiba led Seattle with eight catches for 129 yards.

Commander's Defender Jayden Daniels left the game early when he suffered a serious hand injury. He was 16 of 22 for 153 passing yards and an interception. He had a rushing touchdown, as did running back Chris Rodriguez.
Seattle moved to 5-2 on the year. Washington fell to 3-5.
