NSW Premier Chris Minns has pushed for stricter gun control after two terrorists killed 15 innocent people at Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday night.
Fox News published video of Minns responding to a reporter who asked if gun control could be tightened.
Minns said, “The short answer is yes.”
He continued: “This requires legislation and that means introducing a bill into Parliament that – I mean, to be quite frank – will make it more difficult to obtain these horrendous weapons that have no practical use in our society.”
Minns added: “If you're not a farmer, if you're not involved in farming, why would you have these massive weapons that are putting the public at risk and making life dangerous and difficult for NSW Police.”
He did not specify whether there were two terrorists, one of whom was legally belonging the weapons in possession at the time of the attack were owned by farmers or otherwise involved in farming. He also did not say how often farmers or others involved in agriculture misuse the firearms in question.
Minns also did not explain how making it more difficult for law-abiding citizens to purchase guns for self-defense would allow law-abiding citizens to better protect themselves.
