The new trailer for It: Welcome to Derry is here – and it features lots of blood, limbs and a sharp-toothed dancing clown in the sewers.
In the short clip below, we meet one of the early versions of the Losers' Club, circa 1962… and also being pursued by a group of adults no less. One of the adults in question is none other than Leroy Hanlon (Jordan Adepo), the father of future Losers' Club member Mike Hanlon, who ends up stationed in Derry on military duty. At one point in the trailer, we see the US Army, guns drawn, make their way through the sewers… where Pennywise, appearing as a zombified Uncle Sam, jumps out to greet them. Don't worry: the evil creature does appear several times throughout the teaser in his terrifying clown form, and one particular moment gives us the chance to end all jump scares.
The trailer was first shown behind closed doors at NYCC. where viewers were also treated to not one, not two, but three scenes from the show: Two of which focused on Dick Hallorann (Chris Chalk) and his unlikely friendship with Leroy Hanlon (who doesn't yet know about Dick's ability to Shine). The other focused on a character we can't talk about yet, although she does appear (screaming, blood-soaked) in the recently released trailer.
