NeverAwake FLASHBACK Shoots Its Way to Steam This November

NeverAwake FLASHBACK Demo Released Today

Neotro Inc. and Phoenixx Inc. announced that NeverAwake FLASHBACK will be released on PC via Steam on December 10, 2025. It's the nightmarish sequel to the critically acclaimed twin-stick roguelike shooter NeverAwake. Fans can try the game for the first time today in a demo that will launch as part of Steam Next Fest.

The game takes players back to the troubled sleep of young Rem as relentless nightmares once again destroy his peaceful nights. Accompanied by her favorite stuffed animal, Geibe-chan, players will journey through the twisted corners of Rem's mind. And all the while, you have to face both terrifying and strangely familiar enemies. In this surreal world, even vegetables become a monstrous threat. Players must battle asparagus ghosts, broccoli beasts, and wasabi fire demons, as well as haunting memories such as a terrible trip to the dentist or a close encounter with a rabid dog. Over 80 procedurally generated levels offer new and unpredictable challenges with every playthrough.

Each session begins with choosing a custom combination of three weapons and three accessories. This gives players the freedom to experiment with hundreds of combat builds. Enemies attack from all sides, allowing you to use a variety of strategies: from precise shooting with two sticks to devastating shots from close range. The demo includes a full tutorial and three intense stages in which players face imaginary nightmares born of teenage angst.

“The feedback we received after launching the original NeverAwake is the reason its sequel exists today,” said Hiroshi Sawatari, developer of NeverAwake FLASHBACK. “We are very grateful to have such an active community and look forward to hearing from them again during today's demo launch.”

NeverAwake FLASHBACK will be available on Steam for PC on December 10, 2025. It will support Japanese, English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
