Kentucky Senate Republican candidate Nate Morris proposed renaming the Nobel Peace Prize in honor of President Donald Trump when the president announced that Israel and Hamas had “signed the first phase” of a peace plan.
“President Trump not only deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for seeing this deal through, they should rename the damn thing after him,” Morris said in a post on X answer to Trump's Truth Social post.
Morris's statement came after Trump disclosed in a social media post that “Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase” of the peace plan. Trump also noted that this means that “ALL hostages will be released very soon and Israel will withdraw its troops to the agreed line, which will be the first step towards a lasting, lasting and everlasting peace.”
“All parties will be treated fairly!” Trump added in his message. “This is a GREAT day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all surrounding nations and the United States of America, and we thank the mediators from Qatar, Egypt and Turkey who worked with us to make this historic and unprecedented event possible.”
In a message on X, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed that it was a “great day for Israel” and thanked Trump and his administration “from the depths” of my heart “for their mobilization for this sacred mission to free” the remaining hostages.
“Tomorrow I will convene the government to approve the agreement and bring home all our dear hostages,” Netanyahu said. “I thank the heroic IDF soldiers and all the security forces whose courage and sacrifice brought us to this day. I thank President Trump and his team from the bottom of my heart for mobilizing them for this sacred mission to free our hostages.”
Times of Israel reported A ceasefire agreement could be signed in Egypt on Thursday.
