It didn't take long for the midfielder to Nate Landman establish itself as a key player for Rams.
A few months after he signed a one-year veteran's minimum contract, he was voted captain by his teammates. Landman became the defensive signal and was responsible for multiple Rams losses, 8-2 and Super Bowl contender.
On Saturday, the Rams decided to keep Landman on the roster for the future, signing him to a three-year contract, the team announced.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but it includes more than $15 million in guarantees, said a source familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity because the contract has not been made public.
Landman, 27, is a fourth-year pro who played at Colorado College and signed with the Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent.
Landman made a team-best 91 tackles for the Rams, including a team-high 17 in win over Baltimore Ravens. He also forced four fumbles.
“There are certain guys that have some natural leadership qualities and characteristics that endear them to their teammates,” coach Sean McVay said this week, adding, “I think the best part about it is Nate is none other than himself.”
Landman's contract extension is a notable move for a Rams team that hasn't typically spent much money on inside linebacker.
Landman, veteran Troy Reeder, sophomore pro Omar Speights and rookie Sean Dolak were all undrafted free agents.
Earnest Jones, the Rams' third-round pick in the 2021 draft, was traded to the Tennessee Titans in 2024 before the final year of his rookie contract.
