She is the granddaughter of legendary wrestling coach Stu Hart, the daughter of Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart, and the niece of Bret Hart and the late Owen Hart. She was a figurehead in WWE Women's Division since 2007 and has grown into one of the most iconic superstars the company has ever seen.

Neidhart recounted all the trials and tribulations she faced in her life in her autobiography, Hart's Last Beatdown: From the Dungeon to the WWE. Neidhart takes the reader on a journey from how she got started in professional wrestling to all the tragic moments her family has faced, including the deaths of her father and uncle.

She told Fox News Digital that writing the book was a way for her to step out of her comfort zone and challenge her on another level.

“The most important thing about writing the book was to set new goals, new challenges, new things,” she explained. “Writing a book this is something I always wanted to do, but at the same time I was scared to do it. Over the past year, I've been really committed to solving problems that scare me. I'm doing things that… it's not so much that I'm scared as much as I'm just doing things outside of my comfort zone, putting myself in challenging situations, like playing a new character or working on new projects.

“I always wanted to write a book, but I kept putting it off because I thought: if I write a book, I just want it to be perfect. The best thing to do when you want to grow is to just start.”

Neidhart details all the ups and downs she's faced in the industry.

She said her main takeaway was to hope that readers would feel like they were reading history and not just another autobiography.

“Wrestling is the backdrop to my story, but the book is much more about the fights I had or how I started doing it,” she said. “People who read it can't wait to move on to the next chapter because it's a storyline. They can't wait to see what happens in the story, and it's a story that people don't know about.”

In one instance, Neidhart writes about the memory of feeling like she was the “last one standing” of her family in the professional wrestling business.

The pressure has certainly existed throughout Neidhart's career.

“I think it's just the love of what I do,” she told Fox News Digital. “It's hard to believe that I was in WWE for almost two decadesbut I really like what I do. As with everything, there will be things you enjoy, there will be things that are challenging, and there will be things that challenge, but there is no greater feeling than walking through the curtain doing something you love and feeling so fulfilled in it.

“I think the biggest thing for my family is that my family has done so much in the industry, but at the end of the day, we all had the chance to go through the industry and really live out our dreams, and that was amazing.”

Hart's Last Beatdown: From the Dungeon to the WWE opens Tuesday.

She hoped that fans could somehow be “healed” by reading the book and learning about her experiences.

“If the message of my book has any meaning, if anyone gets anything out of the book, I hope that in some way it helps them heal,” she said. “You can read my book and not even know anything about wrestling, and you will understand everything.

“And that’s very important to me—I wanted to write a book that was easy to read, and where you could love wrestling, you could hate wrestling, know nothing about wrestling, and completely understand the book because it’s about people, relationships, and I think it’s going to heal a lot of people.”
