If you've been online lately, you've probably seen clips from this week's episode. Kardashian in which Kim suggests that the 1969 moon landing was fake.
On the set of his new Hulu drama Everything is fairKim tells Sarah Paulson In between takes, she'll send her some articles and interviews about the moon landing, saying, “I guess it didn't happen.”
Sarah, who was getting her makeup done at the time, didn't seem entirely convinced by Kim's theory, but assured her co-star she'd take a “deep dive” into the topic herself another time.
Back at her trailer on set, the producer questioned Kim on the matter, prompting the Skims mogul to go into more detail about her beliefs. “I think it was fake,” she said. “I've seen some videos of Buzz Aldrin that talk about how that didn't happen. Now he says it all the time in interviews. Maybe we should find Buzz Aldrin.”
“There is no gravity on the moon. Why is the flag flying? The shoes they have in the museum that they wore on the moon have a different imprint in the photographs,” she continued. “Why are there no stars?”
In a confessional, the producer asked Kim what she would say to people who would call her “crazy” for asking questions about the Apollo 11 mission, to which she replied: “They will say I’m crazy no matter what. But, like, go to TikTok, see for yourself.”
Of course, Kim certainly won't be the first to raise questions about the moon landing. However, she faces criticism for her comments, especially for suggesting people turn to TikTok for reliable facts.
And now that Kim's conspiracy theory has gone viral, NASA has entered the conversation…
On October 30, Acting NASA Administrator Sean Duffy traveled to X to assure Kim that Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin had indeed walked on the Moon on July 20, 1969. “We've been to the moon before… 6 times!” He wrote.
In response, Duffy invited Kim to come to the Kennedy Space Center for the launch of the spacecraft. Artemis's next mission We're going to the Moon in April 2026. So I guess this is a happy ending to this story.
