Paramount wants to keep Sonic the Hedgehog movie machine operating until 2028: A fifth A Sonic movie that appears to be a spin-off, but isn't necessarily Sonic the Hedgehog 5already in books Diversity reported on Monday.
We are already receiving Sonic the Hedgehog 4which has a release date set for March 19, 2027, and may or may not. have a title Audio CD – but now Paramount has committed to making a new “Sonic Universe Movie” that will debut in theaters on December 22, 2028. It's unclear what Paramount plans to do with the Sonic Universe, but following the events Sonic the Hedgehog 3which introduced the fan-favorite The Shadow, a standalone film starring Keanu Reeves' character, certainly seems quite possible (and profitable). Knuckles has already received its own spin-off.

If Jim Carrey returns as Robotnik along with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Tom and Maddie, there will be quite a few characters to manipulate in the film. (No one has been officially assigned to the Sonic 4even three-time Sonic director Jeff Fowler.)
In addition to Sonic, Paramount will also expand the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise with a new live-action TMNT film, which will be released on November 17, 2028. This is part of the project. Sonic's plan for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesso hold your breath for this. Previous Turtles live shows weren't as successful.
