Pittsburgh Steelers made no mistake in setting the record Myles Garrett bag. However, they ended up on the wrong end of the scoreboard, and Garrett believes there was a strong correlation between the two.
“In some ways I think they were more concerned about keeping me away from Aaron. [Rodgers] than, you know, winning, and I think that's what bit them,” Garrett said after Browns' An upset 13-6 win in Cleveland.. “They have to face Baltimore next week, but I'm just proud of the guys for fighting and getting this win. This is the main thing, and I will always think so.”
Garrett, who was often outmatched as a running back, tight end or outright double-teamed, was able to handle just two pressures on 43 pass attempts, a rate of 4.7%. This was his second-worst performance of the season; in Week 6's game against Pittsburgh, his pressure rate was just 4.2%.
Garrett still has 22 sacks on the season, one behind Michael Strahan's 2001 record of 22.5 and TJ Watt (2021). Sunday marked Garrett's first game without at least a half-sack since the aforementioned Week 6 game against Pittsburgh. However, Cleveland's defense still dominated: Alex Wright And Grant Delpit both sacked Rodgers, who had a season-high 4.3 yards per attempt. As a result, the Steelers will host the tournament. Baltimore Ravens For AFC North title in Week 18; Pittsburgh could win the division with a win in Cleveland.
Meanwhile, Garrett will have another chance to break the record when the Browns visit the stadium. Cincinnati Bengals at 18 weeks. Garrett had two sacks in the Week 1 matchup between the two teams.
