- Motorola unveils Razr Fold
- 8.1″ internal screen and 6.6″ top display.
- 5 cameras, including a 20 MP internal front camera.
Perhaps encouraged by the warm welcome of his Razr UltraMotorola is expanding its lineup (both quantitatively and physically) with the all-new Motorola Razr Fold.
Announced on CES 2026 In Las Vegas, the Razr Fold takes Motorola into foldable tablet territory, but with its signature styling and some photography tricks, the company takes them away from the impressive Razr Ultra. It's also one of the largest foldable devices, with an 8.1-inch screen and a 6.6-inch top display when unfolded.

There aren't many details about these displays other than size, although Motorola lists the large flexible screen as LPTO, which should mean it will offer a variable refresh rate that can go from 1Hz to 120Hz, putting it on a solid competitive footing against other displays. Samsung Galaxy Z Foldable 7main display.
However, there is one area where the Motorola Razr Fold is already set to outperform its top competitors: creativity. The new device will support Moto Pen Ultra input and palm rejection feature. Although Motorola has not confirmed, this indicates a digitization layer, something Samsung lost on my now ultra-thin Z Fold 7.
The cameras also sound pretty impressive. There are five in total, including a 50MP ultra-wide camera with macro support, a 50MP camera with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP main wide-angle camera.
Motorola is also pushing the boundaries a bit with the rest of its cameras. The main screen houses a 20MP internal camera (double what Samsung offers on the Z Fold 7) and a powerful 32MP selfie camera on the cover.
We were impressed with the photographic capabilities of the Razr Ultra, so I expect good results from these lenses. We know that the cameras will support Dolby Vision video capture.
Details on things like processor, RAM, actual size and weight are sparse after that (assuming the images do indeed depict a relatively thin device). Motorola promises to provide more details, such as pricing, in the coming months.
On the software front, there is some promising news such as on-device AI, multitasking, responsive interfaces, and useful features like Catch Me.
There will be several Pantone-inspired color options: Blackened Blue and Lily White.
However, we'll have questions like why is the camera bump so big (even though we're guessing it's meant to support all those high-resolution cameras)? And will the Razr Fold come with the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor?
The good news is that we should get a closer look at the phone this week at CES.
