MotionRec Will Start Recording on Steam Later This Month

Recording and playback in MotionRec

PLAYISM announced that MotionRec, a tape recorder-themed puzzle game developed by HANDSUM, will officially release on PC on October 27, 2025. A free demo is now available on Steam, offering players a chance to experience the game's inventive mechanics. You can check out the demo now and add the game to your wishlists ahead of release.

Along with the announcement, PLAYISM also unveiled new key art created by Nelnal, a character and concept designer recognized for his work on Pokemon Trading Card Game, RATATANAnd DELTARUNE. The illustration captures the essence of MotionRec through a playful yet melancholy tone that reflects the spirit of this world.

In MotionRec, players control Rec, a small robot tasked with recording the traces of civilization in a broken world dominated by machines. The main feature of the game is to record movement patterns such as walking, jumping and other complex maneuvers. And then reproduce them to interact with the environment. This mechanic allows players to overcome impossible obstacles, such as climbing to unattainable heights or crossing empty spaces, by creatively using recorded movement.

Each stage challenges players to think outside the box, combining platforming and puzzle solving through careful timing and experimentation. By mastering the ability to record and replay actions, players will be able to discover hidden paths and piece together the remains of a once prosperous world.

With its creative concept and vibrant art direction, MotionRec promises an exciting mix of creativity and challenge when it releases on October 27, 2025. The demo gives a glimpse of its innovative mechanics, setting the stage for one of the most intriguing indie games of the year.
