Montreal Alouettes defenseman Davis Alexander hasn't played in a playoff game since 2015, when he was the team's senior. Gig Harbor High School in Washington.

Ten years later, the 27-year-old is preparing to take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who have won five straight Gray Cups, in the Eastern semi-finals Saturday afternoon at Percival Molson Stadium.

“Let's go, the best is on the best. There's no next week if you don't do what you have to do. I like it. Put all the pressure on, I don't care. Let's go win the game.” Alexander said. “The mentality is to go out and win, it's win or go home. I'm so excited; that's what you train for, that's what we do it for.”

Alexander compiled a perfect 11-0 record as a starting QB in the CFL in his first postseason game in the league with three losses, including a 7-0 mark when he played in the 2025 regular season. The five-foot-11, 210-pound cornerback completed 72.4 percent of his passes for 2,024 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in seven starts. He rushed 12 times for 110 yards with one major.

“Right before you go on the field, you might feel a little different, but you have to focus and be disciplined enough to understand that it's just another game. When you do that, you put yourself in a better position, you put the whole team in a better place,” head coach Jason Maas said.

“He's played a lot of games this year. Football is football; it's no different. Right before you run out onto the field, there will be some heartbeats that are a little different, but the moment you snap the first ball, the game is still a game. He'll control it very well, I think he'll be ready.”

In 2025, Alexander did not play in a single regular season match against Winnipeg. James Morgan started in a 26–13 loss in Montreal in Week 12, while McLeod Bethel-Thompson lost 19–10 at Princess Auto Stadium in Week 21. Number 10 traveled to the Manitoba capital for the regular season finale but did not play as Maas decided to rest him after Hamilton finished first in the East Division.

“More than anything, we wanted to get back to Winnipeg,” Alexander said after it was decided the Blue Bombers would move into the East Division playoffs. “They beat us last time we played 19-10. We're a team that we think does well when we're a little doubted, or maybe they get a little more confident after beating us 19-10. Cool, let's do it again; let's go play at home.”

The Alouettes (10-8) will host Winnipeg (10-8) in the Eastern semi-finals at Percival Molson Stadium on Saturday, November 1, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 pm ET. The Montreal weather forecast calls for a high of 8 degrees with sunny and cloudy skies. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS and CTV in Canada and CFL+ worldwide. Radio listeners can tune in to 680 CJOB in Winnipeg and TSN 690 in Montreal.
