The most pressing question for Los Angeles Dodgers wins the World Series for the second straight season over Toronto Blue Jays or Seattle Mariners. However, looking to the future, the Dodgers – based on recent history – could be a contender for the most coveted free agent in the class. This time, New York Post reports the Dodgers are expected to pursue the outfielder Kyle Tuckerwhich will hit the market this winter.

Tucker, 28, is having a successful season for Chicago Cubswho acquired him in a four-player trade last December. In 136 games, he posted an OPS+ of 143 with 22 home runs, 25 stolen bases and a WAR of 4.5. Tucker might have been on the National League MVP list, but a finger injury followed by a calf strain played a role in his late-season decline. For his career, the four-time All-Star has an OPS+ of 140 in eight starts. Major League Baseball seasons, seven of which were with Houston Astros.

The Dodgers could use some reinforcement at the corner outfield spot, and that would be especially true if Teoscar Hernandez continues to show signs of offensive decline. Dodger left outfielders this season – disappointing Michael Conforto received most of the playing time there – he combined to bat just .229/.317/.385, which is less than optimal for that first batsman position. Tucker would certainly provide a significant upgrade over that (he could become a left fielder and Hernandez could switch from right to left), and the Dodgers certainly have the resources and ownership commitments to secure his services – even if the bid reaches $400 million or more.

However, competition for Tucker will likely be significant as he is likely to be the most sought after free agent of the upcoming offseason.
