MLB heads back to Field of Dreams in 2026 as Twins host Phillies

After a four-year hiatus, MLB at Field of Dreams returns to Iowa on August 13, 2026 when Twins meet Phyllis in Dyersville, league commissioner Rob Manfred said Wednesday.

The first event was held in 2021 as a specialized game between Chicago White Sox And New York Yankeesplayed on a field adjacent to the one used in the 1989 baseball film. Field of Dreams. The following year the league held a second game between Chicago Cubs And Cincinnati Reds.

The game will stream on Netflix as part of a new partnership between MLB and the popular streaming service.

The MLB Field of Dreams site has undergone several updates since 2022, meaning this year's game will be the first on the new, expanded site.

Over the past decade, Major League Baseball has sought to expand the sport beyond its traditional stadiums, and the 2026 Field of Dreams game is the latest example of those efforts.

The trend started with the Fort Bragg game in 2016 and has since stopped at Omaha in 2019, Rickwood Field in 2024 and the Speedway Classic at Bristol Motor Speedway in 2025.

MLB will also merge the event with Minor League Baseball. The Iowa Cubs will host the St. Paul Saints on August 11, 2026, marking the second such game in Dyersville following the Cedar Rapids Kernels' matchup with the Quad Cities River Bandits in August 2022.
