(NewsNation) – The Boeing 737, which was considered missing, turned up in the most unremarkable place.
Air India has admitted to finding a plane that had disappeared from its online records in a Kolkata airport parking lot, 13 years after it was taken out of service.

It was only when Kolkata Airport made a formal request to remove the plane that it was discovered that the plane was still there.

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson issued a statement following the news.
“While scrapping an old aircraft is not unusual, it is because it is an aircraft that we had no idea about until recently!” Wilson said.
“Over time, it became lost in memory and only came to light when our friends at the Kolkata airport informed us of its presence in a (very) remote parking lot and asked us to remove it! After confirming that it was indeed ours, we did so. — and thereby removed another old cobweb from our closet.”
