Mike Tomlin is now standing next to his friend Pittsburgh Steelers coach in NFL book of records.
Thanks to the Pittsburgh Steelers' thrilling Week 18 win over the Baltimore Ravens, Tomlin is now tied with Hall of Fame coach Chuck Noll on the all-time regular season wins list. Tomlin and Noll are tied for ninth all-time with 193 regular season wins. Tomlin's 193 victory was also special because it came in a game in which the Steelers clinched the AFC North title and a berth in the AFC playoffs.
“I appreciate some of these things” Tomlin recently said when asked about some of his recent career milestones. “It was a blessing, but it doesn’t really matter as I stand here today looking forward to the opportunity that the Cleveland Browns present this week. There are so many people in this team for whom this does not apply, and since football is what it is, the ultimate team game, I better demonstrate this trick.”
Two weeks ago, Tomlin extended his NFL record for consecutive undefeated seasons and began a career that is now 19 years old. He is one season shy of Tom Landry's record for most consecutive undefeated seasons in NFL history.

When it comes to coaching icons, none are greater than Noll, who in just five years turned the Steelers from a 1-13 team to Super Bowl champions. In the 1970s, the Knolls Steelers became the first team to win four Super Bowls. Pittsburgh remains the only team to win back-to-back Super Bowls twice and four Super Bowls in six years.
Noll was first and foremost a teacher who preached the ropes to his teams. A former offensive lineman, Noll's experience in that area helped Pittsburgh go from a powerhouse to a passing attack in the middle of their dynasty after the league established rules to help open up the passing game.
It took some time, but Noll eventually formed a successful partnership with Terry Bradshaw, the last Steelers player to win league MVP. Their working relationship undoubtedly played a big role in Bradshaw not only becoming a Hall of Fame player, but also becoming a successful player in the Pittsburgh franchise.
Now in his 19th season, Tomlin continues the legacy of Pittsburgh's success that Noll started more than 50 years ago. He'll look to help the Steelers earn their first playoff win since 2016 when Pittsburgh hosts the Texans next Monday night in the AFC wild-card round.
