Starting at approximately 16:00 UTC on October 29, 2025, Microsoft clients and services using Azure Front Door (AFD) may experience delays, timeouts, and errors. We have confirmed that this issue was caused by an accidental configuration change.
Affected Azure services may include, but are not limited to:
App Service, Azure Active Directory B2C, Azure Communication Services, Azure Databricks, Azure Healthcare API, Azure Maps, Azure Portal, Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Desktop, Container Registry, Media Services, Microsoft Defender External Attack Surface Management, Microsoft Entra ID (Mobility Policy Service, Identity and Access Management, and User Management), Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Sentinel (Threat Intelligence), and Video Indexer.
The AFD service now operates with greater than 98% availability. While the majority of customers and services have been mitigated or are experiencing significant improvement in affected regions, we continue to work towards the final restoration of the remaining affected customers and services. We have revised our mitigation timing and are currently aiming for full mitigation by 00:40 UTC on October 30, 2025.although we will report if mitigation is achieved sooner.
