Mick Foley parts ways with WWE because of its ties with Trump

Pro wrestling legend Mick Foley announced on Tuesday that he was “parting ways with WWE” due to the organization's ties to President Trump, WWE Hall of Famer.

“Although I am concerned about WWE's close relationship with Donald Trump for months – especially in light of his administration's ongoing cruel and inhumane treatment of immigrants (and almost anyone who “looks like an immigrant”) – reading the president's incredibly cruel comments after Death of Rob Reiner this is the last straw for me,” Foley, 60, wrote on Instagram Tuesday.

“I am no longer willing to represent a company that coddles a man who appears to have no compassion while he leads our country into autocracy. Last night I informed @WWE Talent Relations that I will not be speaking on behalf of the company while this man remains in office.”

“Additionally, I will not be signing a new contract with Legends when my current one expires in June.”

WWE did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment.

After the murder of Hollywood star Rainer and his wife Michelle Singer RainerTrump wrote on social networks that the couple died “reportedly due to the anger he caused in others due to his severe, overwhelming and incurable illness, a mind-paralyzing disease known as TRUMP SYNDROME.”

Trump added of Reiner, who campaigned on liberal causes: “He was known to drive people crazy with his raging obsession with President Donald J. Trump, with his apparent paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump administration exceeded all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the advent of America's Golden Age perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michelle rest in peace!”

Nick Rayner, 32 years old was arrested on suspicion of murdering his parents. Trump's comments sparked bipartisan backlash.

Foley won the WWF Championship three times in the late 1990s as Mankind. He also won eight WWF Tag Team titles and also wrestled as Cactus Jack, Dude Love and under his own name. He retired from the ring in 2012, but has since appeared in the league in various roles.

Foley was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2013. The same thing happened with Trump as a celebrity.

Trump, a longtime fan of professional wrestling, has attended WWE events and has been an active participant, both in and out of the ring, in a number of storylines. Late last year, Trump called Linda McMahon is a former longtime WWE executive and president whose husband, Vince McMahonis the founder of the company – as Minister of Education for a second term.
