Michael Hage is on fire: he scores two more goals tonight

It's Friday night, so it's a night when many of the Habs' top prospects are playing in the AHL and NCAA, as is the case with Michael Hage, who is off to a great start to the season with seven points, including two goals, in just two games against the University of Michigan.

Well, the player picked up where he left off, scoring two goals again tonight. His first goal came early in the first period with less than two minutes left in the match when Hage, receiving a beautiful pass from Nick Moldenhauer as he entered the zone, deftly thwarted the opposing goalkeeper with a beautiful shot. Tyler Duke also had an assist.

Then the Habs prospect did it again in the second period when he made himself look like Patrik Laine, taking a quick shot near the faceoff circle and scoring on the power play.

Hage also had five hits in the game as the Wolverines defeated the Providence College Friars 5-1. These are Hage's eighth and ninth points in just three games this season.

That's already more than a quarter of his rookie season, when he had 34 points, including 13 goals, in 33 games. For those wondering, the NCAA single-season points record is held by Tony Hrkac, who scored 116 points in 48 games.

For his part, LJ Mooney also had a good night, earning an assist on Brodie Ziemer's goal and scoring in the shootout.

The diminutive forward currently has one goal and two assists in four games for the University of Minnesota.
