Wife shares heartbreaking tribute and denies rumors

The influence of food Michael DuarteThe president's wife is speaking out for the first time since his shocking death… sharing an emotional tribute while refuting what she calls devastating misinformation.
Mikhail's wife Jess released a statement to TMZ… “I have been struggling with what to do since his passing, so I am doing what I think is right…sharing his stories. Whether it's about his content or Mike as a husband, dad and friend to everyone.”
She tells us that the love of the fans and the barbecue community has been her lifeline and says she's touched by how many people Mike has inspired and hopes to continue his legacy, even though she understands what that means.
Jess says the support has given her strength, adding that she “feels like he's moving mountains.” Although she still struggles with the loss, she begins to realize that his purpose “was so much more.”
She says the family is working on memorial arrangements and will share details soon. But she also directly addresses the online noise, adding… “False stories cause disappointment and disrespect for the legacy of a remarkable man. This is an active investigation and I ask the media and public to refrain from spreading unverified information.”
She ends her message with the heartbreaking line: “Mike, I am proud to be your wife and I will carry that title with honor for the rest of my life. See you on the other side, daddy.”
We broke the story …Texas deputies responded to a 911 call about a man with a knife who was acting erratically. The sheriff's office says Duarte confronted the deputy and then allegedly attacked her, yelling, “I'll kill you,” causing her to fire two shots. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
He is survived by Jess, his wife of 9 years and their daughter.
