The promising James Bond game 007 First Light has been delayed. Danish developer IO Interactive announced a release date change this afternoon, pushing it back two months to May 27, 2026. First Light was supposed to launch in March.
“007 First Light is our most ambitious project to date and the team has been completely focused on creating the ultimate James Bond experience, combining breathtaking action, globe-trotting, espionage, gadgets, car chases and more.” wrote IOI CEO Hakan Abrak in a statement. “As an independent developer and publisher, this decision allows us to ensure from day one that the game will deliver the level of quality that players deserve.

“The game is progressing well and is playable from start to finish, so these extra two months will allow us to further polish and improve the game, ensuring we deliver the strongest possible version at launch. We are confident that this will ensure the long-term success of 007 First Light, and we truly appreciate the patience and continued support we have received since introducing the game.”
Agent 007 First Light recently appeared at The Game Awards.in a new trailer that reveals musician and actor Lenny Kravitz as the game's villain. I imagine it must have been difficult to restrain him, given his desire to fly away. I'm sorry; It's almost Christmas – forgive me.
Alex Donaldson, one of our regular Bond fans, recently got the chance to see 007 First Light in action and was very impressed. He described it as “much more than Hitman” – a reference to IOI's iconic assassination franchise – and suggested that the game could be “the ultimate composite video game.”
