“My heart is heavy as I write these words to you. I would like to release a cushion to soften this news. I have been diagnosed with cancer of the immune system: mantle cell lymphoma,” Alexandra Diaz told her Facebook followers on Wednesday.

“We are all afraid of this word 'cancer', obviously for ourselves, but also for others. Every time we are hurt, every time we ask ourselves, but why?”, writes Marie-Claude Barrett.
“I instinctively wanted to write to him, but I didn't have the words. The famous phrases 'everything will be fine' or even 'you're strong' were inappropriate. I didn't want to simplify the situation with empty words. I told her I was thinking about her and sending her all the love I could.”
“Alexandra replied: “I accept all your words with great gratitude.” I offer my platform to everyone who wants to whisper sweet words to him,” adds Marie-Claude Barrett.
