Goaltender Joseph Will is returning to the team and will resume on-ice participation and other team activities as part of the return-to-play process, the Leafs said. announced Friday.
The 27-year-old took time off on September 23 to attend to personal family matters.
The Leafs have not given a timeline for when Wall will be ready to play.
Wall was instrumental in Toronto's success last season, playing a career-high 42 games with a 27-14-1 record, a 2.73 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
Although he entered the postseason as a backup, Wall started six games for the Maple Leafs after Stolarz suffered a head injury in Game 1 of the second round series against the Florida Panthers.
Through seven playoff appearances, Wall posted a 3–4 record with a 3.56 GAA and .886 save percentage.
Originally selected 62nd overall by the Maple Leafs in the third round of the 2016 draft, Wall has played in 78 career NHL games and has a career record of 48-27-2 with a 2.74 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage.
With Wall sidelined, Stolarz became the full-time starter and has a 2-3-1 record with a 3.01 goals-against average and .894 save percentage in six games.
