Authorities charged the man who rushed V Ariana Grande as she walked the yellow brick carpet at the Singapore premiere of her new film Evil: For good on Thursday.
On Friday an Australian named Johnson Wenwas charged with disturbing public order Singapore court.
Wen, 26, pleaded guilty Monday and was sentenced to nine days in jail.
Wen told the court he arrived in Singapore on November 11 on a 90-day pass to attend the premiere and take a holiday. Straits Times reports.
In a video from the site that went viral Evil: For good At the premiere, Wen jumped over the barricade as Grande signed autographs while walking the carpet at Universal Studios Singapore with her co-stars. Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh And Jeff Goldblum.
Wen then ran up to Grande and hugged her, jumping up and down excitedly and waving to the crowd. Erivo quickly intervened, tearing them apart before security intervened and escorted him off the mat.
In the video, Grande looked visibly shaken and took a deep breath as Erivo hugged her as the man walked away.
After Wen was removed by security, he reportedly returned to try to jump over the barricade a second time, but security grabbed him and escorted him from the area.
Wen calls himself a “prankster” on his TikTok account, where he shared the footage.
“Dear Ariana Grande, thank you for letting me jump on the yellow carpet with you #wicked,” Wen wrote in the caption.
Wen was initially arrested around midnight local time on November 14 and was charged the same day.

Asked by District Judge Christopher Guo if he had anything to say during his court appearance, Wen replied: “I won't do it again, your honor.”
The judge asked, “Are you talking lip or is that your intention?”
“Yes, I’m going to stop,” Wen told the judge.
Guo said Wen had not faced any consequences from his previous altercations with celebrities as a “serial attacker.”
“You might have thought that the same thing would happen here, but Mr. Wen, you are wrong. You must remember that one's actions always have consequences,” Guo said.
Guo noted that Wen's actions were deliberate as he planned to jump over the barricade to record a video and share it on social media.
“You appear to be an attention seeker who only cares about yourself and not the safety of others when you commit these actions,” the judge added.
Grande hasn't spoken about the incident, but Erivo briefly mentioned it during a screening of the film in Los Angeles over the weekend.
“We've been through some shit” Erivo said. “I mean, damn, even last week, let's be honest.”
Wen recently stormed the stage and hugged him Katy Perry during a concert in Sydney, Australia in June.
Perry performed her hit Hot and cold at the Qudos Bank Arena when Wen ran onto the stage and started dancing next to her.
The singer looked visibly shocked in a video posted on social media as the man tried to hug her and jumped up and down on stage – similar to his actions with Grande.
Wen then began dancing alone after Perry turned around to distance herself from him and continued singing. As he performed the “thread” dance move, security approached him from both sides and escorted him off stage.
“There will never be a show like this again, so just enjoy it, Sydney,” Perry said into the microphone as security grabbed the man. “What the hell is going on?”
Police in New South Wales told NBC News that the man was arrested and charged with two offenses including entering a fenced area and obstructing a person in the performance of work or duties.
Wen didn't just reach out to Perry and Grande; he shared previous videos of him running around the stage during Weekend concert in Melbourne last year and running onto the pitch in the Women's World Cup final in 2023.
When asked after the incident how he managed to bypass security, Wen said: 9 Australian News it was “Magic. Just kidding, I'm too fast.”
Wen said he received about $20,000 in fines for his on-stage antics.
“I plan to leave for good because it gets you into too much trouble,” he added.
