Police encourage people to meet at exchange areas located at WPS stations when they meet people to buy or sell items listed on online trading platforms. There are zones at each of the four police stations, which are located at 245 Smith St., 100 Sinclair St., 1750 Dugald Rd. and 2321 Grant Avenue.
Officials will not assist with transactions, but “these areas may be subject to video surveillance,” WPS says on its website.
“The exchange of weapons or illegal items is not permitted. The Winnipeg Police Service is not responsible for the use of these areas.”
WPS recommends transacting in public places during the day rather than walking alone. Additional offers available online.
