Officers continued their investigation and were taken to an apartment on the West Side, near Eglinton and Falmouth Avenue. where they found a man inside with stab wounds.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead a short time later, police said.

Two people were detained at the scene, but no details have been released yet.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police in Durham Region are also investigating the fatal incident.

Meanwhile, officers east of the city in Oshawa are investigating a separate incident of violence after a man was found dead near Simcoe Street and McGrigor Street, south of King Street, on Thursday afternoon.

“The man showed obvious signs of trauma and was pronounced dead,” Durham Regional Police said on X, without providing any further details.
