A 31-year-old man was arrested after a woman was allegedly pushed off a balcony in Montreal early Thursday morning, police said. A woman in her 30s was found unconscious on the ground and taken to hospital in critical condition.
Police called to the scene around 8:15 a.m. ET Thursday found the woman unconscious.

A 31-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after a 30-year-old woman was allegedly pushed off a three-story balcony on Thursday morning.
Const. Jean-Pierre Brabant of the Montreal police said officers were called to an apartment building on Rue Sainte-Catherine, off P-IX Boulevard, in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough around 8:15 a.m. ET.
According to police, there was an argument before the woman was pushed.
She was found unconscious on the ground and taken to hospital in critical condition.
The man was detained on the spot.
The police are continuing their investigation.
