Man, 27, charged in deadly downtown shooting of 18-year-old

A 27-year-old man has now been charged with the murder of an 18-year-old man in the city's entertainment district in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“It is alleged that the accused was approached by a group of men,” police said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

“The men discharged firearms and the defendant suffered a gunshot wound,” police said. “The defendant then used a firearm, striking one of the men in the group (the murder victim).”

Police say the suspect was taken to hospital where his injuries were determined to be “non-life threatening.”

The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital

“The victim was transported to the hospital a short time later, where he was pronounced deceased,” police said.

The victim was identified as Dylan Adams.

Frandy Noel, of Toronto, is charged with second-degree murder.

No additional details about the shooting have been released.
