The AI-powered architecture platform is gearing up to launch version 2.0 next year.
Montreal model has secured C$3.4 million in seed funding as it prepares to revamp its artificial intelligence (AI)-powered architecture platform.
Architects typically turn to computer-aided design software, the use of which requires knowledge and training to render plans or renderings of residential buildings. Maket's AI-powered platform is designed to speed up the early planning stage so architects can quickly iterate and get plans approved by clients.
Maket claims that since its official launch in 2023, it has attracted more than 1 million registered users and grown to 14 employees.
Maket offers both consumer and enterprise subscriptions. Regular homeowners can use the platform for $30 per month, and builders, prefabricators and developers can integrate their floor plan libraries and workflows directly into the platform for $1,200 per month. The company's residential plan generator provides AI-generated architectural residential plans based on needs and constraints, and a virtual designer uses AI to augment images so clients can appreciate different interior and exterior aesthetics.
“This funding validates the incredible progress our team has made and the market’s belief in a more democratic and inclusive approach to design,” Murphy said in a statement.
The seed round was led by Montreal-based venture capital firm Amiral Ventures, with participation from Blitzscaling Ventures, BY Venture Partners, Hidden Layers and Spatial Capital. The company is preparing to launch Version “2.0” in the first quarter of 2026, which will include a new floor plan generator with greater flexibility for fine-tuning and visualization. Maket says it aims to be a comprehensive platform for builders and architectural professionals that includes zoning code review, HVAC planning, and building materials selection.
Maket was founded by CEO Patrick Murphy, COO Stéphane Turbide and CFO Simon Vallée in 2021. Valle has experience as a three-time founder, having left his previous startups at Groupon, Figma and Slack, where he held the position of senior product manager.
Maket claims that since its official launch in 2023, it has attracted over 1 million registered users and has grown to a team of 14 employees, with total funding to date of over C$4 million.
“The strength of the founding team, coupled with the dramatic growth of artificial intelligence tools and outstanding early-stage support from over a million users, positions Maket to reimagine what is possible in architecture,” Amiral Ventures managing partner Frédéric Bastien said in a statement.
