On Wednesday, a self-described journalist briefed the President and senior US officials on the threat of the “homeless industrial complex.”
During a White House roundtable on antifa, Jonathan Chow, a reporter for Turning Point USA's Frontlines newsroom, said the political extremism of left-wing ideologies intersects with the “homeless drug crisis.” As evidence, he shared a recent report from the Discovery Institute, a conservative propaganda mill that, among other things, advocates ending classroom teaching of evolution.
The complex, according to right-wingers who believe in its reality, is essentially extensive network nonprofit organizations and their beneficiaries that absorb federal funds intended for the homeless.
“In many cases, the homeless industrial complex is providing cover for antifa, and antifa is benefiting from American tax dollars, and they are essentially being used as muscle,” Chow said. said.
Then he pointed to Stop strippinga community-coordinated franchise campaign that aims to prevent government violence against homeless encampments. People who actually want to help the homeless don't seem to believe Chow. Instead, he told the president and his allies that the organization's ultimate goal was to create a PR crisis for law enforcement.
“What they're doing quietly is bringing in antifa militants to create a crisis to make the police look bad,” Chow said. (Of course, police don't have to brutalize homeless people and force them out.)
Some recent activities by alleged “antifa militants” include: throw out a bucket of paint, protesting ICE facilitiesAnd burning flag.
But Choi didn't stop with antifa—instead, he lumped the famously decentralized anti-fascist organization with the Democratic Socialists of America, putting a target on the back of a bona fide political party.
“These far-left, progressive groups tend to align themselves with antifa,” Chow said. “There is a deep-rooted connection between the non-profit homeless housing game in America associated with antifa and far-left activists.”
“The homeless industrial complex serves as a front for Antifa.”

For years, Donald Trump and his allies have promoted the idea that violent far-left radicals are wreaking havoc in cities across the country, but their rhetoric has been conspicuously lacking in evidence. To quell the noise, members of the House Intelligence Committee asked The CIA and FBI investigate false intelligence campaigns in 2020 and find evidence of an “invasion” by an anti-fascist group. Despite reports Contrary to Trump's rhetoric, the noise has not died down.
The reality is that homelessness is on the rise in the United States. The nation's unprecedented housing shortage, coupled with shallow social safety nets, has resulted in an equally unprecedented rise in homelessness. Rates increased by 18 percent in 2024 compared to last year, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development. But these numbers are apparently just a launching pad for even more intricate conspiracies, as evidenced by the work of the president's far-right influencers.
