FREDERICTON, New Brunswick, Nov. 17, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — MADD Canada invites the media to attend an event to showcase its 2025-2026 activities. School program in New Brunswick in partnership with provincial sponsor Alcool NB Liquor (ANBL). The event at George Street Secondary School in Fredericton will bring together Year 7 and 8 students for a special screening that will highlight the tragic and preventable consequences of drinking and driving and empower them to protect themselves, their families and their peers by making sober choices.
Road traffic crashes are the leading cause of death among Canadian youth, with alcohol, marijuana and/or other drugs involved in more than half of these crashes. To prevent these senseless tragedies, MADD Canada School program, produced in collaboration with ANBL, brings vital messages to youth in New Brunswick.
Members of the media are invited to attend the special screening and interact with guests, students and staff.

This year's 60-minute presentations include five dramatic short films in English and four French that illustrate the risks and consequences of drinking and driving, as well as an interactive quiz and victim testimonies. Schools can choose the presentation format that best suits their needs—traditional meeting, classroom, or virtual. Following the presentation, each school receives a Teacher Guide and School Kit with additional resources to help teachers continue talking to students about sober driving throughout the school year.
