Lossless audio is finally available on Spotify in Canada.
To enable lossless audio, tap your profile icon in the top left corner, select Settings & Privacy → Media Quality, and choose where you want to enable the feature (Wi-Fi, Cellular, and/or Download). You'll know you're listening to lossless music when you see the icon in the view or Now Playing panel.
Spotify first introduced lossless technology audio to its platform in September, but unfortunately Canada was not one of the first countries to do so. Spotify said it would expand to 50 markets by October, and luckily, Canada was one of them.
Lossless audio provides better sound quality when listening to music. Lossless audio retains the full quality of the original recording, essentially audio straight from the mastering team. Lossless allows users to stream tracks in 24-bit/44.1kHz FLAC format, although you'll only be able to listen to them over a wired connection or Bluetooth aptX lossless, and on mobile devices and devices that support Spotify Connect. More devices should be supported in the future.
