Los Angeles Dodgers’ victory parade draws thousands of fans

Early Monday morning, thousands of fans lined the streets of downtown Los Angeles, hoping to see the back-to-back World Series champions.

holiday parade was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and run through downtown, followed by a rally at Dodger Stadium. During the parade, the Dodgers will travel on double-decker buses.

Several major roads in and around the city center, as well as some bus routes, were closed or cancelled. According to City News Service, officials said roads in general will be closed south of Chinatown and Cesar Chavez Avenue, west of Spring Street, east of the Harbor Freeway (110) and north of Eighth Street.

Metro representatives called on fans use the rail system to access the parade, noting that there are seven stations near the parade route.

The 2025 Dodgers team has been a bright spot for many Los Angeles residents during a tumultuous year for the region, after historic firestorms destroyed thousands of homes in January and then a massive immigration sweep by the Trump administration over the summer.

But much of Los Angeles was ready to celebrate Monday, two days after the Dodgers pulled away late to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in an epic Game 7.
