Dangerous dungeons await in Lootbane
Lootbane, a minimalist RPG focused on loot and calculated risk-taking, has launched a playable demo on Steam. Developed by solo creator Milo Panta, the demo offers players an early look at a game built around pushing their luck, managing resources, and deciding how far they're willing to go before all is lost.
In Lootbane, players explore shifting regions, assemble synergistic units, and delve deeper into dangerous dungeons in search of powerful treasures. Each race is a balance between ambition and restraint, where greater rewards always come with greater consequences.
The demo includes the Warrior, one of four planned playable classes, as well as the first two regions: Forest Lands and Desert Lands. Players can collect a variety of equipment, find unique followers, unlock stat-boosting abilities, and battle region-specific enemies and challenging bosses. Between runs, the town center allows players to sell loot, manage their stash, and store gold safely in a bank.
A clear risk and reward structure encourages dungeon development. Each time you level down, your gold income and chance of finding legendary items increases, and the difficulty of enemies increases dramatically. Failure results in the complete loss of all unbanked progress, highlighting the importance of careful decision making.
The demo reflects extensive feedback from the game's first public testing on Steam. Improvements include improved pacing, refined balance, and additional content. And a cleaner interface that makes core systems easier to understand without reducing their impact.
Players interested in shaping the future of Lootbane can join the official Discord community to share feedback, track development updates, and communicate with other players.
