If Logitech launched MX Master 4 months ago, I would gladly announce this to my favorite mouse performance.
While I am a beginner in MX Master Series, the fourth generation of the Logitech mouse makes it clear why he is a beloved among office workers. The mouse feels great, has a bunch of useful tools that you may not find on other mice, and even the winner is ergonomically. At least this, if your wrists have not yet been blessed with a vertical mouse.
Back in May, I tried Vertical Game Mouse Razer and instantly fell in loveThe field and now, when I made a jump on vertical mice, returning to horizontal orientation to try MX Master 4, honestly sucked. For the most part, however, I will tell you about personal preferences – vertical mice is not necessarily better, I just find them much more convenient for my wrists. And if Logitech, when -lobe launched a vertical look at the MX Master 4 … Well, let's just say that I will have a house on my table.
Super scrolls
In addition to orientation, MX Master 4 has something. And a few things that, I think, are not very good. But let's start with the good. Firstly, the mouse has an excellent shape and function. The shape is well suited for my hand, making it quite comfortable, and, as a rule, it looks beautiful.
Logitech emphasized that he developed MX Master 4 to be more stable and convenient. As for stability, the MX Master 4 has aluminum with a low carbon content in fluidor, a 100 percent processed cobalt in the battery, and about half of the plastic is processed (the exact interest differs depending on the color). As for comfort, Logitech said that this changed the position of the thumb to reduce the stress of the hands.
MX Master 4 has tons of side buttons – even a rubberized attraction is a button.
Speaking of a large quantity, this is one of my favorite functions at the MX Master 4. I did not use other mice with such a feature, and this is very convenient for scrolling horizontally. Nevertheless, this is not quite a mandatory function. After many years of using other methods for horizontal scrolling, such as holding the control key, it was difficult for me to break muscle memory to use the luster.
The MX Master 4 wallet is not the only scrolling wheel that is worth mentioning – the vertical wheel wheel is also great thanks to the Logitech MagSpeed technology. This is not new or exclusive for MX Master 4, but it was a new function for me, and I wanted to mention. MX Master 4 offers two scroll modes: a click, a tactile scroll or a smooth, fast scroll, with a button to exchange between modes. Most mice has something like that, but Logitech takes another step forward; MX Master 4 can automatically switch between modes depending on how quickly you scroll. Usually I prefer the option of tactile scrolling, but sometimes I like to use faster scrolling when I need to navigate in long documents, and MagSpeed gives me the best of both, without forcing me to switch between the modes.
My only real grip using MagSpeed is that if I take the wheel rotation, and then transfer my cursor to another window, it also scrolls this window – sometimes too far, especially if I really run up the scrolling wheel. But there is a simple correction for this: just turn off the option to scroll on inactive windows (usually found in Windows mouse settings).
They feel so good, but do not add to experience
There are a pair of other new functions that should be allocated with MX Master 4. Logitech says that the mouse is engaged in twice a stronger connection thanks to the optimized placement of the antenna and the new high -performance chip. And another large new function is tactics.
For me, this is where we go to a less good part of the MX Master 4. I say “less good”, because tactics are not bad, they really feel great, which can be difficult to cope. My tactic problem is that they do not add anything significant to the experience of the mouse.
In my time, checking the mouse, the haptics surfaced only in a handful of limited interactions. For example, when the mouse wakes up from sleep, this gives my hand a little blow to tell me that it connected to my computer. This is normal, but not quite revolutionary – I can say when the mouse connects because the cursor begins to move on my screen. Logitech says that the mouse also offers tactical feedback for scrolling, navigation and choice, but either my mouse did not vibrate for these interactions, or it was so subtle that I did not notice it. In any case, not great.
The fact is that I think that the gaptics of the mice are actually a good idea, simply not in mice, focused on performance, like MX Master. Place the tactics in the game mouse, and I am sold. I preferred a mouse and a keyboard for games for many years, but one thing that I miss the controllers is a vibration – a playing mouse from Logitech with tactics would be much more convincing.
The ring of actions is a convenient software addition
Finally, the MX Master 4 has a new “action ring” function, which allows users to create a user ring of shortcuts for general applications and actions that they use on their PC. On pressing the buttons on the mouse on the screen, a ring of shortcuts appears. Then users can move the mouse to choose a shortcut.
By default, the parameters include the launch of the Logitech Options+, AI tools, such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT, applications, screen images and much more. In addition, users can configure these actions from the above -mentioned parameters+applications in accordance with their needs – that I recommend, since many actions already have the key combinations, which makes the ring feel excessive.
In general, the MX Master 4 is a solid productive mouse with many functions and options corresponding to many different working processes. I highly recommend this to everyone who works on the rack and spends a lot of time in front of the screen. This is convenient, tunes and ultimately improves work experience. While the tactics are cool, I would not buy a mouse only for this function.
My only desire is that Logitech made a vertical version of MX Master 4.
MX Master 4 Available in Canada September 30Starting with $ 159.99. The mouse will be available in two colors in Canada, graphite coal (in the photo in this review) and black.
It is worth noting that there is also a MAC version of the MX Master 4, but there are only two differences between them. Firstly, the MAC option does not come with a USB-C wireless key, which means that you need to use the Bluetooth connection instead. The second difference is color, with a version of the Mac, offering white silver or space black options.
