The former Ireland goalkeeper said the strikers' role is also defensive because “you defend from the front” but that is difficult when Arne Slote doesn't yet know his starting XI.
Liverpool's fragility meant Manchester United The front three of Matheus Cunha, Brian Mbeumo and Mason Mount can use their pace to their advantage and cause problems for Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate.
“It was probably one of the few Liverpool games I watched and thought Van Dijk looked anxious, especially in the first half,” said the former Liverpool player. Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison on BBC Radio 5 Live's Football Daily podcast.
“That's because he has to cover Milos Kerkez, who I think should leave the team right now. “He's struggling and doesn't look like he could wear a Liverpool shirt at the moment.”
“Amad [Diallo] and Mbeumo gave him a lot of problems on this side.
“It was actually Konate who saved Van Dijk, which doesn’t happen often. He was Liverpool's best defender in the game.”
