Lions to give Aidan Hutchinson non-QB record of $141m in guaranteed money | Detroit Lions

Detroit Lions are signing star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson to a four-year, $180 million contract, his agent said Wednesday.

The Lions have yet to confirm those numbers, but did post a meme of Hutchinson dancing on the official Team X account.

The reported $141 million guaranteed is the highest among non-quarterbacks, and the $45 million average salary trails only the Green Bay Packers' Micah Parsons ($46.5 million) among non-QBs.

Hutchinson has six sacks, a league-leading four forced fumbles and 13 quarterback hits in seven starts this season with the 5-2 Lions.

The 25-year-old has 34.5 sacks, 78 QB hits, 138 tackles, eight forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, four interceptions and 11 passes defensed in 46 career games (all starts). He made the Pro Bowl in 2023 but missed the final 12 games in 2024 after broke my leg vs. Dallas Cowboys.

“The amount of things he can do for us in the running game and the passing game … he relaxes a lot, man,” Lions head coach Dan Campbell said this month. “You talk about pulling your weight, he pulls his weight and then some. He takes a lot of resources offensively, which helps everyone else. Guys like him, he's in that rare world, dude, where there's no easy way out.”

Hutchinson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 draft, was already signed for $20.86 million for next season as part of the fifth-year option on his rookie contract.
