Liam Neeson sets straight whether he is an anti-vaxxer after talking about a controversial new documentary.
Movie, Plague of Corruption: 80 Years of Pharmaceutical Corruption Exposedbased on the book by Judy Mikovits, a former research scientist known for making unsubstantiated medical claims, including that face masks activate COVID-19—and science teacher Kent Heckenlively, who reportedly described himself as “the world’s No. 1 anti-vaxxer.”
It is reported that at one point Liam's narration describes calls COVID-19 vaccines “dangerous experiments” and says “thousands of lives have been lost not to the virus but to the mental anguish” caused by “harsh” lockdown restrictions.
However, Liam says his participation in the documentary does not mean he is against vaccinations. In a statement for Guardian And Entertainment WeeklyHis spokesman denied he was an “anti-vaxxer”.
“We all recognize that corruption may exist in the pharmaceutical industry, but it should never be confused with opposition to vaccines,” the statement said. “Liam has never been and is not anti-vaxxer. His extensive work with UNICEF highlights his long-standing support of global immunization and public health initiatives.”
The statement also noted: “He did not shape the editorial content of the film, and any questions about his statements or messages should be directed to the producers.”
In 2022, Liam – a UNICEF Global Ambassador – led its initiative to celebrate World Immunization Week. In the video, he thanked scientists, health care workers and others for their role in vaccinating “billions of children” over the years. “Vaccines are a remarkable success story for humanity,” he said. “If you have ever been vaccinated or have your children vaccinated, then you are part of the chain that keeps all of humanity safe.”
