LG TVs’ unremovable Copilot shortcut is the least of smart TVs’ AI problems

Following the backlash LG faced this week, companies may be reconsidering installing artificial intelligence apps on people's smart TVs. Better use of larger language models in TVs could be a hidden tool for improving TV viewing. People don't typically buy smart TVs to facilitate access to chatbots.

But this development of events still worries everyone does not want a chatbot with artificial intelligence on their TV in general.

Some people don't want chatbots on their TVs

Subtle integration of generative artificial intelligence that makes it easier for people to do things like identify the title of “that movie” may have practical applications, but there are reasons to be wary of TVs with chatbots.

Chatbots make it harder to understand how TV tracks user activity.
