So that they don't wake the sleeping giant. Yes, the federal Liberal government has finally driven Albertans to the point where they want to leave Canada for good. When this happens, the US will immediately recognize Alberta as a free and sovereign nation and will prevent any coup by Canada. Federal Liberals have awakened a sleeping giant. The collapse will be rapid and devastating for eastern Canada, which will be left scratching its head for centuries to come. Amen.

(Albertans are sick of it, but it's still hard to imagine it coming to this)

Albertans are terrified

In response to Mr. Bilda's letter dated November 19.Supply and demand“, “Letters to the editor”, Calgary SunWednesday.) Albertans are well aware of the concept of supply and demand. What confuses Albertans (and should confuse all Canadians) is that Canada has enough resources to meet our needs, yet many provinces continue to import oil from other countries.
countries. Canada needs to become less dependent on foreign sources of oil and gas supplies.

(Eco-warriors seem surprisingly comfortable sourcing supplies from countries with less stringent environmental regulations than Canada).

We have stock

(Related: “Albertans need supply and demand education,” Letters to the Editor, Calgary SunWednesday.) Sun is correct in noting that Albertans are aware of supply and demand. What this letter writer may be missing is that the demand should not be an increase in the need for oil and gas, but should replace oil and gas already provided by another country. For example, how much more oil and gas will Alberta and British Columbia be able to produce, displacing unstable supplies of oil and gas from Russia or the Middle East to the EU and other countries.

License to Prosper

(Re: Bell – Alberta's New 'Strong and Free' License Plate – Here,' Calgary SunTuesday) From my point of view it looks great. Today, Albertans have a brand new license plate with a very catchy slogan. Tomorrow we will have a brand country, the Republic of Alberta, ready to burst onto the world stage. May I ask if life could get better?

In the zone

Complete rezoning is in the news again. The city administration recommended the rezoning as a path to more affordable and affordable housing. This did not happen. A lone, narrow, two-story house is on the market for $1.2 million in Ward 4. The small bungalow is dwarfed by an eight-unit building with no parking, which fortunately gives the city more in taxes on the site than the small bungalow ever could. The rezoning was never about affordable housing, just about increasing taxes for the city coffers.

(It all comes down to the bottom line)
